Counselling and Psychotherapy
About me
Whatever the reason you've found my page, I know that starting therapy can be daunting. I became a therapist after years of struggling with my own anxiety and low self esteem. I was a people pleaser who hated sharing my feelings. Then, when a big unexpected life change happened, it pushed me to finally face things and create the life I wanted. Therapy was one of the things that helped me the most. I had a great relationship with my therapist and it made me want to offer that to other people.

I offer therapy that's as much about the heart as it is the mind because usually, that's where the healing needs to happen. My aim is to build a therapeutic relationship where you feel accepted, understood, and safe to share anything. My clients tell me I put them at ease. I'm calm, patient and down to earth. I genuinely care and I see the best in people.
I also really believe in the power of psychoeducation to empower people. When you understand why you think or react the way you do, it can help you develop self acceptance and create change. Over the years, I've trained in other wellbeing practices too. Sometimes you might want practical tools, such as breathing practices, that can reduce your general anxiety or quickly calm you when you feel overwhelmed. Or, like me, you might be a bookworm who loves reading other people's stories and self help books to give you some reassurance and insight. I'm always happy to share these practices and insights in our sessions, if you want them.

You can find out more about my practice on the 'How I can support you' page. I also offer a free discovery call so you can find out more and see how you feel with me.
